There are so many small sound reinforcement applications where is not required a huge sound pressure like a rock concert, but where frequency response and sound definition are crucial. The available space is often limited and no power outlets are available. Additionally, correct loudspeaker positioning is often overlooked, which can negatively impact the final result. The Soundsation HyperUp 8BA is a solution to these challenges. This is a portable sound system that weighs just under 13kg. It features an 8-inch high-excursion subwoofer and a vertical array of four 2.75-inch full-range speakers. The system can be powered by mains or the internal rechargeable battery, and is driven by 600W peak class-D power amplifiers and digital processing, which allows for total control of both transducers, multi-band limiter, protections, and frequency response. The system also includes a 3-channel mixer with USB, SD-Card, and Bluetooth connectivity. The DSP is user-friendly and offers four presets to accommodate different needs: Flat, Music, Band, and Speech. The system has an HF coverage of 120° (H) x 20° (V). Its column structure is divided into three segments, with a maximum height of approximately 1.85m including the subwoofer. This design allows for flexible placement of the mid-high transducers, depending on whether the system is on the floor, on a stage, or at a height where the passive segments are not required. Connections between subwoofer and column segments are internal; the look is definitely elegant and minimalist where only power (when connected to mains power) and audio connection cables – placed on the back – can reduce the effect. And if you power the system by battery, use the Bluetooth connection with your audio source, you don’t even need any cables. Not only, but in the case of a second HyperUp 8BA speaker, the TWS (True Wireless Stereo) connection between them is totally invisible. This system, in fact, allows the wireless connection between identical speakers so that the “master” – that is, the one to which the Bluetooth audio source is connected – is connected to the “slave” so that the latter plays only the right channel. This way you would have a stereo system without the need for any cables between the two. HyperUp8BA comes with a handy padded bag for protected transport of the 3 column segments. A subwoofer cover (HyperUp 8 Sub Cover, part number SOU0114) is also available (optional).
